Every year, shoe designers come up with great trends--bejeweled gladiators, embellished heels, chunky heels and funky, fun colors. And every year, us girls with wide feet are either left in a lurch without the trendiest shoe on the shelf or if we're lucky, at least two designers will think of us.

And when this happens, there is no time to waste.

There's no time to think or second guess. All we can do is act! 

And that's how I'm feeling about one of the hottest trends for this season: the denim shoe.

Spring hasn't even begun and already Nine West has only one pair of denim flats in a size 9W left on their website.

I've found a few online sites who are still carrying denim shoes in a wide width. Get 'em while their hot!

Mariah Carey's accessory line on HSN features a number of wide width pumps--but the Sparkling Studded Platform Pump (shown above) most definitely takes the cake!

Kendal Knot Wedge, Payless Shoe Source, $19.99

Payless Shoe Source combines its sole wide width denim shoe with another great trend: the wedge heel. I especially like the detailing--the cute knot and peep toe, and cork wedge heel make this a great shoe for late spring and will take you throughout the summer.

Denim Cuff Sandals, Evans, $48

 

Last, but most definitely not least, is the denim cuff sandal. And I'll just let you all know now, that I will be rocking these during the summer. Available through Evans, the plus size UK retailer, this sandal is not only available in a wide width, but also a double wide!

Seek and Ye Shall Find: Wide Width Foldable Ballet Slippers

After a night of styling, profiling and dancing in your favorite stilettos, how do your feet feel?

If you’re like me, then a nigh of clubbing really isn’t worthwhile unless your feet are just a little bit sore!

A few years ago, I was at a Schecky's event and came across a vendor selling foldable ballet flats. They were cute. They were stylish. They were a great thought. And of course, no wide width was available.

Until now. Supermodel Iman has designed foldable flats through her company, Iman: Global Chic on http://www.hsn.com.

I stumbled upon these flats today while just browsing the Internet and was so happy to have discovered this wide width find that I had to share it with all of you.

Not only are the shoes featured available, but a few others as well. All foldable ballet flats are Iman's HSN site are on clearance right now--which means sizes, colors and widths are limited. But guess what? It is still a worthwhile investment.

All Weather, All the Time

Happy New Year! I've been away a long, long time. But I'm back!

And the picture to the left has served as the greatest source of inspiration for me to get this blog back up and running. Look closely: the woman to the left has on water repellant boots while the woman to the right? Well, her feet are bound in two plastic bags.

With all the snow, slush and downright harsh weather we've been experiencing in New York City, I've had no choice but to observe what people have been wearing on thier feet while riding the subway.

But seriously, there are too many great all weather boots available for any woman to resort to plastic bags. These are my ABSOLUTE favorite all weather boots:
